Selling to EU customers? Add a withdrawal button

If you sell online to EU consumers, since 19 June 2026 the Consumer Rights Directive (new Article 11a) asks for an online withdrawal function during the 14-day withdrawal period.

It works in two steps:

  • A button labelled "withdraw from contract here" (or a clear equivalent), easy to find and available for the whole period.
  • A short form (name, which contract, email for the confirmation) sent with a "confirm withdrawal" button.

Then you send an acknowledgment, for example by email, with what they submitted and the date and time.

A clear page tells new customers you're easy to deal with. A few countries set their own start dates, so check where you sell.
